Yes, we know how good all those aromatic herbs and spices are when it comes to adding a little heat to your Valentine’s Day meal. But there is one thing you don’t want to leave out, and that’s a little bite of good chocolate.
One of my favorite chocolate recipes is the one I posted a while back for Black Bottom Cupcakes, which is pictured above. Deep, dark chocolate bottoms hold a center of creamy cheese cake-like filling studded with chocolate chips. I’ve made this recipe more times than I can count up and it never gets old. I recently returned to that recipe like an old friend and topped it off with a delightful stencil etched in confectioner’s sugar. A sweet heart-shaped fleur–de–lis was a perfect addition to this petite treat.
